Role overview
The Firmware Validation Engineer focuses on validating firmware for vehicle components and integrated systems. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering, hands-on experience with avionics hardware, and the ability to design and execute validation plans from early design through manufacturing.
What you will do
- Collaborate with Firmware, Avionics, Manufacturing, and Flight Operations teams to deliver reliable firmware releases for flight testing and customer deployment.
- Create and execute detailed test specifications for both system-level and component-level validation, covering standard and fault-injection scenarios.
- Develop software to support Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) simulations.
- Run SITL and HITL tests, analyzing and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Reproduce and investigate problems discovered during flight test operations.
- Enhance existing validation tools and introduce new solutions to accelerate validation cycles and support scalability for current and future airframe models.
