Key Responsibilities:Gather product requirements and design inputs from various teams, translating them into firmware specifications. Develop firmware and associated software that adheres to product requirements and complies with FDA standards. Work collaboratively with electrical, hardware, and software engineers to create advanced medical devices. Design and execute firmware testing plans for verification and validation. Document firmware architectures comprehensively. Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.3+ years of firmware development experience, including a full product development life cycle: proof-of-concept, firmware architecture design, production release, and product support. Familiarity with medical device development processes, encompassing design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Position Overview

In the role of Firmware Engineer, you will be tasked with creating high-quality, reliable, and scalable firmware for Echo’s medical devices. You will significantly contribute to the development of our inaugural BCI device, participating in critical decision-making processes that affect firmware, software, and electronics. Your involvement will span the entire product life cycle, from gathering product requirements to developing firmware that meets those specifications, and ultimately overseeing the testing, verification, and validation processes.
