About the job
About Atomic Semi
Atomic Semi is pioneering the development of a compact and rapid semiconductor fabrication facility.
Utilizing current technology and innovative simplifications, we aim to construct tools in-house to facilitate swift iterations and enhancements.
Our team consists of a select group of outstanding, hands-on engineers specializing in mechanical, electrical, hardware, computer, and process engineering. We take ownership of the entire stack, from atoms to architecture. With an optimistic outlook on technology's future, we are committed to pushing its boundaries.
We believe smaller, faster, and self-built solutions are superior.
Our lab is equipped with 3D printers, a diverse range of microscopes, e-beam writers, and general fabrication equipment. If we lack any tool, we invent it!
Founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller, Atomic Semi is led by visionaries with a rich history in semiconductor innovation.
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic Semiconductor Packaging Engineering Interns for the upcoming fall term, starting in September, with a preferred commitment of 4 to 8 months. As part of a small team, you will engage in comprehensive process development and integration for semiconductor packaging, providing you with unique, hands-on experience that is rare in larger organizations. You will actively participate in the research and development of new packaging technologies, including mechanical prototyping, experiment design, and data analysis. We provide training on our tools, allowing you to use them independently, including 3D printing, metal plating, laser cutting, and metrology.
Our mantra is to achieve rapid prototyping and testing, aiming for completion within days or weeks rather than months. As part of the application process, a portfolio showcasing your built projects is required. If you have successfully delivered a medium-to-high complexity system through personal projects or previous internships, you would thrive in our environment.
