Job Overview Join Our Team We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Go) to join Inflect as a contractor within our Engineering team in Poland. This role offers you the opportunity to take significant technical ownership of essential backend services in a hands-on, execution-driven capacity. If you have a passion for building, scaling, and enhancing production systems that drive business success, we'd love to hear from you! This position is ideal for a senior engineer at either a senior or early staff level, showcasing strong technical ownership and a high degree of autonomy. As part of our tight-knit, senior engineering team, you will enjoy substantial ownership and autonomy, making a direct impact on our product. You will have a concrete influence over backend architecture, technical direction, and tooling decisions while maintaining alignment with product and business objectives. This position does not include people management responsibilities or legacy system ownership; it is solely focused on developing, scaling, and enhancing modern backend services. About Inflect Inflect is at the forefront of building and operating an innovative IT infrastructure marketplace, seamlessly connecting buyers and service providers through a single, product-driven platform. We are not just a software house or agency. We navigate complex marketplace workflows at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, network services, and large-scale computing (CPU/GPU). Our marketplace integrates directly with service providers, allowing buyers to discover, compare, and transact infrastructure services effortlessly. Our engineering culture prioritizes pragmatism, ownership, and rapid feedback, focusing on delivering tangible business value rather than adhering to rigid processes or excessive formalities. Work Environment Standard working hours align with the Polish (CET) time zone, with regular collaboration with engineers and stakeholders based in the United States. We prefer a hybrid work model, with 1–2 days in our Warsaw office each week. Daily communication in English with US-based engineers and partners. Close collaboration with Product, Backend, and Infrastructure-focused teammates. Your Responsibilities Assume technical ownership of critical backend services that power Inflect’s marketplace and service provider integrations. Design, implement, and scale backend systems that support the onboarding and integration of new service provider groups. Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership to translate marketplace and integration requirements into practical, production-ready technical solutions. Engage in ongoing evaluation and improvement of backend systems to enhance performance and reliability.
