Job Summary
The Regional Senior Buyer plays a pivotal role in shaping the product portfolio for the European market. This position entails identifying promising brands, establishing vendor relationships, negotiating favorable commercial terms, and leveraging analytical insights to foster category and revenue expansion.
This role demands astute commercial acumen paired with the ability to execute strategic initiatives effectively. The Regional Senior Buyer is tasked with sourcing brands that satisfy customer preferences, adhere to regional regulations, and reflect market trends across Europe.
Job Expectations:
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Merchandising and coordinate with global merchandising teams to align on business strategies, priorities, and category directions.
- Engage with in-market leadership, including Region Leaders, to develop and sustain a product assortment that resonates with local markets.
- Own and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for both new and existing brands, including pricing strategies, gross margins, product mix, promotional activities, and overall product lifecycle, while driving continuous enhancements.
- Navigate Europe-specific compliance, regulatory, and supply chain demands to ensure adherence to best purchasing practices.
- Work in tandem with Compliance and Regulatory teams to manage catalog updates, documentation, and regional approvals.
- Source products directly from manufacturers or authorized distributors in accordance with company policies and regional sourcing standards.
- Negotiate competitive commercial agreements, including pricing, marketing budgets, rebates, delivery timelines, and volume commitments.
- Cultivate and maintain robust vendor relationships to promote innovation, enhance margins, and ensure consistent communication regarding capabilities and expectations.
- Oversee vendor contracts, product evaluations, and issue resolutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Drive the onboarding of new products and brands to ensure timely and accurate integration into the European product lineup.
- Be available occasionally for meetings based in the United States, adhering to Pacific time zone schedules.
- Continuously assess and adjust pricing strategies, costs, and system modifications to uphold required mark-ups and margin performance.
