Join the Paladin Security Team as a Healthcare Security Guard!
Location: Toronto, ON (On-Site)
Pay Rate: $18.40 – $23.87/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Various shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours (Rotating, Continental)
Position Overview
Paladin Security is actively seeking dedicated Healthcare Security Guards to bolster the safety and security of hospital facilities throughout the Greater Toronto Area. This position offers an excellent pathway for individuals aiming to establish a meaningful, long-term career in an evolving sector, all while contributing positively to the community. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional customer service abilities, maintain composure in challenging situations, and excel in healthcare settings that prioritize safety, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine patrols of hospital grounds, including parking lots, corridors, entrances, and secured areas.
- Utilize security surveillance systems and alarm technologies, promptly reporting any suspicious activities.
- Manage access controls to ensure that only authorized personnel enter restricted zones.
- React swiftly and effectively to emergencies, such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or security threats.
- Assist hospital personnel during crises, evacuations, and urgent situations.
- Welcome and aid visitors, patients, and staff while enforcing hospital regulations.
- De-escalate high-tension scenarios and resolve conflicts with a calm and professional demeanor.
- Accurately document daily operations, incidents, and accidents, completing detailed reports as required.
- Collaborate closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure comprehensive site safety.
- Adhere to visitor and patient protocols, addressing any violations appropriately.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Security License for Ontario.
- Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
- Proof of two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Immunization documentation for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a completed two-step TB skin test.
- Must maintain a clean-shaven face for N95 mask fit testing.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Certification in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) is required.
- Applicants lacking these certifications may enroll in Paladin’s UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding. Training costs will be covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment (unpaid training time).
- Authorized to work legally in Canada.
