Qualifications
Qualifications:Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Meteorology, Statistics, or a closely related field is required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a similar environment. Proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, particularly in Deep Learning and Neural Networks. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Prior experience leading teams of 5-10 individuals. Familiarity with meteorological data is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing deadlines. Capacity to interpret complex documents effectively.

The Senior Director of Science, Innovation, and Development will spearhead and oversee the scientific and research functions at AccuWeather. The ideal candidate will act as the principal advisor on innovation and will manage the development of cutting-edge products and solutions across Artificial Intelligence, Meteorology, and various Scientific Disciplines. A primary focus of this role will be to guide the definition and establishment of AccuWeather’s Next Generation Weather Forecasting System, alongside creating innovative solutions that lead the industry in health, energy, sports, and transportation. Additionally, the role involves the creation of new intellectual capabilities and patents, while leveraging existing intellectual capital and patents. This position reports directly to the SVP of Digital Strategy and requires extensive collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, especially the IT department.
