Join KPFF Seattle’s Structural Team, dedicated to designing buildings that inspire and serve communities. We engage in a wide variety of projects, including high-rise towers, office buildings, hospitals, medical centers, parking structures, and educational facilities. Our engineers possess extensive expertise in diverse structural systems and materials such as steel, concrete, and mass timber. We work collaboratively with architects, developers, and other design professionals to deliver innovative, sustainable, resilient, and efficient structures that meet the evolving needs of the built environment.
Our downtown Seattle office is on the lookout for a skilled Structural Engineer with 4 to 7 years of professional experience. This position allows you to leverage and enhance your technical abilities and client relations skills on impactful projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to various building projects, and further develop your consulting expertise.
- Conduct independent structural analysis and design for tasks such as gravity framing, lateral systems, and foundation systems using industry-standard software.
- Create 3D BIM models and detailed construction documents, coordinating with project drafters and engaging in multidisciplinary BIM collaboration.
- Oversee the work of structural designers, ensuring clarity in scope and providing technical guidance.
- Collaborate with project managers to efficiently plan and execute project activities.
- Lead the construction administration process alongside project managers, including site observations, reviewing construction submittals, and responding to contractor inquiries.
- Interpret and apply building and material codes including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, and NDS while adhering to KPFF and client standards.
- Engage in client meetings, track coordination items, and maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary partners.
- Participate in KPFF’s Forefront program, promoting mentorship, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture that values creativity, curiosity, inclusion, and technical excellence.
