About the job
Archer Aviation is a pioneering aerospace company located in San Jose, California, dedicated to the development of an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Our mission is to enhance sustainable air mobility by creating aircraft that can transport four passengers with minimal noise and environmental impact.
We are driven by ambitious goals and complex challenges, and we believe that a diverse workforce fosters innovation, enhances insights, and propels us toward collective success. Our commitment to an equitable and inclusive environment celebrates the unique contributions of each team member.
What You Will Do:
- Conduct low, mid, and high-fidelity aerodynamic simulations for Archer's eVTOL aircraft.
- Develop linear and non-linear aerodynamic models to forecast aircraft behavior and performance across the flight envelope.
- Analyze experimental data from flight tests or wind tunnel experiments to identify model error sources, validate, and enhance aerodynamic models.
- Create efficient methodologies to integrate flight test data into aerodynamic simulation models of varied fidelity and complexity.
- Contribute to the advancement of Archer's aerodynamic software stack, optimizing methods and workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and pilots for updates to flight simulator aerodynamic modeling and issue resolution.
