About the Role:
The Mechanical Engineering team at Planet seeks a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of critical spacecraft subsystems for our fleet of Earth-imaging satellites. Your role will encompass overseeing spacecraft design initiatives, from subsystem to full spacecraft level. The ideal candidate will be an experienced mechanical designer with a proven track record in leading mechanical subsystem development through all phases, from conceptualization to manufacturing, testing, and flight integration. As a vital member of the Mechanical Engineering team within Planet’s Space Systems division, you will collaborate closely with various teams to drive our agile approach to spacecraft design.
This is a full-time position based at our San Francisco headquarters, requiring in-office attendance five days a week.
