We prioritize speed and innovation; right from Day 1, you will be a vital contributor to the realization of our products, overseeing essential aspects of hardware design from initial concept to full production.This position is based onsite at our headquarters in San Francisco, giving you the chance to work closely with the founding team.What You’ll DoDesign and develop custom mechanical components for our cutting-edge robotics and teleoperation systems, including end-effectors, grippers, manipulators, mounts, and more.Create and implement rapid prototyping solutions for new hardware designs, focused on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Integrate mechanical components into larger hardware systems, ensuring alignment with performance objectives and project timelines.Provide technical leadership and guidance to the leadership team on technology strategy and decision-making.Work collaboratively with Hardware Engineers and the Operations team to support the overall product development of our autonomous robotics solutions.What You'll BringA minimum of 4 years of mechanical design experience.Extensive hands-on experience with end-to-end mechanical design of components and assemblies for robotics systems, medical devices, rockets, drones, automotive systems, or similar fields.Expertise in using 3D modeling software such as Creo, Solidworks, or NX; familiarity with Onshape is a plus.Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).A proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Hardware Engineers and cross-functional teams.
