Fieldguide is entering a period of significant growth, aiming to expand from 150 to over 600 employees worldwide. The Director of Talent Acquisition will work closely with the Senior Director of People to shape and scale the company’s recruiting strategy across engineering, go-to-market, and other teams. This role is based in San Francisco, CA.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership position. The Director will build scalable hiring systems from the ground up, develop a standout employer brand, and lead a recruiting team committed to raising the bar with every hire. Influence spans hiring processes, candidate profiles, and ensuring the company’s culture is reflected throughout the candidate journey.
Fieldguide seeks a leader who has built effective recruiting frameworks in high-growth AI or SaaS settings. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the hiring lifecycle and a drive to position Fieldguide as a top employer in the industry. The work combines hiring strategy, operational discipline, and AI-powered execution.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, globally distributed talent acquisition team.
- Promote a culture of accountability and ongoing improvement, using data to balance efficiency with quality as the organization grows.
- Act as a trusted advisor to founders, executives, and hiring managers, offering guidance on hiring decisions with a foundation in market insights and analytics.
- Use AI tools to analyze recruiting pipeline data, team performance, and market trends, preparing clear briefings for leadership and enabling the team to focus on impactful hiring.
Employer Brand and Talent Marketing
- Shape a compelling employer brand that highlights Fieldguide’s mission, culture, and value proposition, starting in San Francisco and expanding globally.
- Design candidate experiences that reflect Fieldguide’s technical rigor and values, setting the company apart from other AI employers.
- Work with Marketing and People Operations to share the Fieldguide story through channels such as LinkedIn, job boards, community events, and university outreach.
