As a recognized expert in regulatory requirements, you will advise on compliance matters related to TSRI's animal care program.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES* Conduct thorough reviews of incoming research protocols and amendments, checking for grant/protocol alignment as well as verifying consistency with previously submitted versions;* Draft comprehensive memos detailing review findings, including suggestions for improvements;* Organize and participate in IACUC meetings, setting the agenda, documenting minutes, and managing post-meeting communications with investigators;* Maintain document control and track the research animal protocol review process daily, including oversight of the IACUC email, document processing, and data entry across various systems;* Provide guidance to TSRI faculty, staff, and students involved in animal-related research to ensure compliance with federal and institutional guidelines;* Track veterinary observations, protocol non-compliance, and regulatory exceptions;* Aid in the development and execution of a continuing review program for monitoring IACUC protocols and animal-related activities, including delivering remedial education and training to research personnel as necessary;* Perform comparative protocol reviews against grants and lab practices;* Schedule and prepare for semi-annual inspections of research facilities; compile and submit reports approved by the IACUC to the Institutional Official;* Serve as a liaison between animal husbandry/veterinary staff and IACUC regarding compliance issues;* Assist in creating and delivering training programs for faculty, staff, and students;* Maintain the IACUC web page;* Support the writing and submission of Standard Operating Procedures and IACUC newsletters for review;* Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
