Classroom Management: Help maintain an orderly classroom environment while supporting up to 16 students. Assignment Assistance: Aid in grading and offer constructive feedback on student assignments. Relationship Building: Develop connections with students and staff to facilitate their educational journey and academic progress. Encouraging Learning: Create an environment that stimulates critical thinking and academic curiosity. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Minimum age of 16 years. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to assist students with advanced concepts. Prior experience or interest in working with younger students is highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A positive, encouraging demeanor that fosters a comfortable atmosphere for students to ask questions. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus but not mandatory. Additional Information: Previous teaching experience or coursework in education is not a prerequisite for this position. Schedule During Academic Year: As an afterschool program, AoPS Academy offers classes in the evenings and weekends. Availability during weekday after-school hours (starting as early as 4 PM) and/or on weekends is essential. A minimum commitment of approximately 3 hours per week for each assigned class is required. Each course runs once a week for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Summer Schedule: Summer programming includes multiple two-week camps from June to August.
