Robot Service Technician - All LevelsSan Carlos, CA (On-site)At 1X, we are pioneering the development of humanoid robots that collaborate with humans to address labor shortages and unlock new possibilities for abundance.The Robot Service Technician role is vital in maintaining and enhancing our advanced robotic fleet. You will be engaged in high-precision mechanical assembly and digital communication networks, ensuring that all hardware adheres to rigorous safety and performance standards. Collaboration with engineering teams to provide data and feedback is a key component of this role.Your Responsibilities:Assemble and repair intricate electromechanical systems, including robot joints, internal motor components, and rope-driven systems.Perform all tasks in strict alignment with safety protocols for mid-voltage electricity (~60V) and delicate electronic components.Utilize basic command-line or terminal tools to interact with robot systems and diagnose hardware failures or communication errors.Execute thorough test sequences to validate the integrity of repairs and confirm that subsystems meet performance benchmarks prior to robot deployment.Keep meticulous service records documenting repairs, measurements, and root causes to facilitate fleet-wide reliability tracking.Work within a structured environment, taking ownership of your tasks and escalating technical obstacles through established communication pathways.Ensure maintenance of shop tools and fixtures to keep the service center operating at peak efficiency.
