We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Financial Aid Advisor to join our dedicated team, where you will assist students in navigating the financial aid landscape with precision and integrity.
Position Summary
The Financial Aid Advisor is instrumental in guiding students through their educational funding options. This role involves assisting both applicants and current students throughout the financial aid process, from the initial application and eligibility assessment to award management and compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to helping students achieve their academic aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students and their families in navigating the financial aid process, including FAFSA completion, verification, loan counseling, and exploring funding options.
- Review and process financial aid applications in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Accurately assess student eligibility and develop award packages that align with program structures and compliance mandates.
- Maintain current and compliant student financial aid records within the student information system (experience with Orbund is a plus).
- Provide counseling to students regarding aid adjustments, repayment responsibilities, and satisfactory academic progress.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, and Student Accounts to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and efficient funding disbursement.
- Monitor changes in student eligibility and enrollment that may impact aid awards and communicate updates to students promptly.
- Assist the Financial Aid Director with audits and ongoing process enhancements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 1–2 years of financial aid experience within higher education, ideally in a private career school setting.
- Familiarity with Title IV regulations, NSLDS, COD, and FAFSA processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems (Orbund experience preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to federal compliance standards.
