This role involves crafting impactful technical presentations, application images, and diverse marketing collateral that educate the photonics community about our product offerings and their applications. Building on the foundational skills of the Science Writer I role, candidates will demonstrate a robust understanding of Thorlabs' extensive product portfolio, leveraging technical expertise and photonics knowledge to engage in meaningful dialogues with engineering teams. Responsibilities include understanding new product introductions and how they integrate into our existing catalog, proposing and executing enhancements to our website for improved customer experience, and producing high-quality content with minimal need for revisions. The position requires close collaboration with graphic artists to develop presentations, using information provided by Thorlabs' engineers and personal experience with similar products in the field. Although the position is based in Rochester, NY, occasional travel to other Thorlabs locations may be necessary.Key Responsibilities:Project Management: Apply technical knowledge and familiarity with our ERP platform (D365) and content editing tools to create comprehensive presentations that support New Product Introductions (NPI), website updates, product discontinuations, acquisitions, trade shows, social media content, video/animation projects, and other marketing materials, ensuring minimal feedback is required regarding technical accuracy and adherence to Thorlabs' standards.Content Strategy: Facilitate informed decision-making for customers among a diverse portfolio of over 20,000 items, developing and implementing proposals for website reorganization, ensuring robust cross-linking, incorporating SEO strategies as needed, and maintaining comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.Timely Updates: Manage and ensure prompt updates to content across all platforms and materials as required.
