Associate Director of Elementary Education

The Associate Director at AoPS Academy's Redmond campus plays a pivotal role in overseeing the campus's administrative and logistical operations. This position involves teaching engaging weekly classes in mathematics and language arts, as well as collaborating with the Campus Director to recruit and train part-time staff and instructors. This is a full-time, year-round position that encompasses both the academic year and summer sessions. Key Responsibilities: Deliver the AoPS curriculum in dynamic, interactive classes, fostering student engagement and maintaining an effective classroom environment. Assist in the recruitment and training of part-time faculty. Support administrative, logistical, and customer service functions on campus. Engage with prospective families to evaluate students' academic abilities and explain the advantages of our educational programs, thereby supporting enrollment and sales efforts. Provide guidance and support to current students and families as necessary. Help design and implement community-building activities to enhance campus culture and ensure high student retention rates.

Holds a degree in a STEM-related field, Education, or Humanities, or has equivalent experience relevant to math and/or language arts. Exhibits strong understanding of math, reading, writing, and grammar. Has prior classroom teaching experience at the K-5 level (preferred). Brings experience in teaching or tutoring students. Note: A formal teaching credential is not required for this position. Schedule (Academic Year): Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends, with candidates expected to be available for weekday after-school hours (starting as early as 4 PM) or weekends. A minimum commitment of about 3 hours per week is required for each assigned class. Each class session lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes and meets once a week. Schedule (Summer): During summer months, various two-week camps are offered from June to August. Camp sessions occur Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day, with options for both morning and afternoon classes.
