About Dominion Dynamics
Dominion Dynamics is pioneering Canada's first modern defense prime: software-defined, attritable, and sovereign. We envision a future where military strength is not solely dependent on sophisticated platforms but on the effective integration of adaptable, AI-driven capabilities across various operational domains. Our goal is to create a cohesive family of systems that are deployed with operators, designed to be sovereign, and aligned with Canada's democratic principles.
Our agile team includes former operators from renowned organizations like Anduril, Google, Amazon, and the Canadian Armed Forces. We are committed to advancing hard technology in challenging environments and seek system-level thinkers who excel at the intersection of autonomy, aerospace, and national security.
Why This Role Matters
Tactical networks form the backbone of our deployed platforms, requiring secure and low-latency connectivity across diverse links and within constrained environments. This position is essential for progressing prototype network capabilities into robust, field-ready software and tools, ensuring connectivity, situational awareness, and mission continuity, even in degraded or contested scenarios.
The Role: RF Signal & Telemetry Systems Engineer
In this role, you will spearhead the development and integration of network stacks across edge platforms, focusing on reliable data transport, data serialization, configuration tools, and performance validation through rigorous testing and field trials.
Note: This position includes a forward-deployed mandate, requiring hands-on work with deployed systems and operators in real-world settings.
What You'll Do:
Design and implement networking components for edge systems, prioritizing reliable data transport, link resilience, and telemetry forwarding.
Develop tooling and automation for network configuration, deployment, and recovery using JSON, YAML, and shell scripting.
Implement and optimize protocol handlers, data serializers, and interoperable interfaces in programming languages like Python, Go, or C/C++ as suitable.
Integrate network software with embedded firmware, gateway services, and backend components to ensure seamless operation.
