Full-Time Director of Behavioral Health
Location: West Oakland, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $187,000 – $210,000 annually

Position Overview
Become a pivotal member of our team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Community Health Clinic in West Oakland, CA, as the full-time Director of Behavioral Health. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee and enhance our behavioral health services, ensuring we deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Our clinic is a dedicated Nonprofit Organization focused on providing essential health services to the BIPOC community of Oakland, CA. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals, including therapists, social workers, case managers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, primary care physicians, optometrists, registered dietitians, and physical therapists.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management of behavioral health operations, including program development and clinical oversight.
- Supervise and mentor clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations across all service areas.
- Prepare the organization for government and insurance audits.
- Collaborate with Alameda County to spearhead health initiatives in Oakland.
- Work with community organizations and healthcare providers to guarantee integrated care delivery.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.
- Actively engage in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
- Review reimbursement rates, oversee billing of the behavioral health department, and manage revenue reconciliation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, or a related field.
- Active California licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PhD, PsyD, or RN with a psychiatric background).
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in management within behavioral health, including leadership and senior management roles.
- In-depth knowledge of mental health best practices and regulatory standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
