About the job
Join Monarch Crops as a Research Scientist specializing in Computational Chemistry, where you will spearhead our molecular modeling initiatives to understand insect responses to olfactory cues. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer, contributing significantly to the validation of machine-learning-predicted compounds across various insect species.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement computational models aimed at predicting molecular interactions between compounds and olfactory receptors.
- Perform quantum mechanical calculations, molecular docking, and dynamics simulations to enhance predictive accuracy.
- Interpret data from computational experiments to select compounds for laboratory and field trials.
Location
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Oakland, CA.
Why Join Monarch Crops?
At Monarch Crops, we are tackling one of the most significant challenges of our time: creating a viable alternative to conventional insecticides. We are developing a spatial repellent that safeguards crops from pests while also protecting human health and reducing unnecessary harm to insects. If you are passionate about this mission, we encourage you to apply.
