About the Position
Jane Street is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Program Manager to join our engineering team in New York. As a cornerstone of our operations, technology plays a vital role in our success, and this position offers the chance to collaborate closely with our engineers to create and enhance Jane Street's trading technology.
In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead projects from inception to completion. This includes setting clear objectives, developing project timelines, monitoring progress, managing developer resources, identifying potential risks, and coordinating with various teams. You will be responsible for communicating project schedules, priorities, and progress updates to the broader organization.
The ability to communicate effectively and manage competing priorities is essential, as you will work with a diverse range of teams—developers, business units, operations, and external financial partners—to ensure each project is delivered on time and meets or exceeds expectations.
We foster a culture of innovative problem-solving, encouraging team members to think creatively when developing processes and tools for their projects. We are looking for a strategic thinker who aligns project goals with group objectives while solving challenges.
This position is part of Jane Street's technology group, which designs, implements, and maintains the infrastructure supporting our trading activities. You will gain insight into a broad spectrum of the global market while working to improve our systems. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently within small teams, is eager to learn quickly, and is capable of making impactful decisions.
At Jane Street, the role of a Technical Program Manager can vary widely. Depending on the team and circumstances, your responsibilities may span from program management to product management. You will thrive in this environment if you are comfortable with ambiguity and are willing to dive into challenges, applying your relevant skills in program management, product vision, or business context as needed.
