Our mission is accomplished through direct clinic services for individuals seeking sexual health care, support for sexual partners, disease monitoring, education and training for healthcare providers and community groups, as well as research and policy development aimed at improving sexual health and wellness. The BPHC STI operates eight Sexual Health Clinics throughout New York City (NYC).Job Duties and Responsibilities:1. Collecting and accurately labeling blood specimens from patients.2. Properly packaging and storing specimens for lab transport.3. Adhering to stringent infection control and safety protocols.4. Maintaining the phlebotomy area and instruments pre- and post-use.5. Conducting waived laboratory tests such as Pregnancy Tests, Rapid HIV, Urinalysis, and Rapid Trichomonas tests.6. Implementing prescribed patient care and emergency procedures as required.7. Supporting physicians in phlebotomy specimen collection.8. Centrifuging specimen samples.9. Training new employees on lab equipment and specimen collection procedures.10. Ensuring all laboratory equipment is sterilized, up-to-date, and adequately stocked.11. Conducting quality control assessments and performing tests for Alere, HCG, and Trichomonas.12.
