Jane Street is on the lookout for a dedicated Paralegal to join our dynamic Legal & Compliance team. In this pivotal role, you will play a vital part in managing contracts—ranging from financial agreements to vendor contracts and leases. Your organizational skills will be crucial as you handle workflows, maintain databases, and support daily legal operations and various ad hoc projects.
Collaborating with seasoned professionals, you will help streamline processes and enhance the systems that keep our legal operations efficient. As a primary point of contact, you will engage with diverse teams across Jane Street, including traders, technologists, procurement specialists, market data analysts, and engineering personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting signatures, drafting, blacklining, proofreading, scanning, and completing essential forms.
- Organizing and upkeeping centralized directories, contract templates, and supporting documents.
- Reviewing and preparing various legal documents, including onboarding materials, Powers of Attorney, Non-Disclosure Agreements, service and vendor contracts, leases, and more, while ensuring proper filing and maintenance in our database.
- Preparing and maintaining lease abstracts for our offices, data centers, and co-locations.
- Facilitating data collection and provision for stakeholders related to their projects, while implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and scalability in our legal operations and contract workflows.
About You
- A Bachelor’s degree accompanied by 3+ years of administrative or paralegal experience.
- Experience with corporate or financial transactions at a trading firm, hedge fund, law firm, or private equity firm, or with vendor/procurement and leasing within financial services or tech.
- Self-motivated with a strong independent work ethic.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in database management, project management, and AI tools.
- A reliable and flexible team player with a courteous demeanor.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and web-based portals.
- A notary license is preferred or a willingness to obtain one.
