About the Position
We are seeking a talented FPGA Engineer with a strong foundation in both software and hardware design to join our innovative team in developing cutting-edge FPGA-based applications.
At Jane Street, we strongly believe in leveraging advanced tools to enhance the programming experience, making it faster, more enjoyable, and reliable. We apply these principles to our FPGA engineering efforts and are on the lookout for individuals passionate about utilizing programming language technology to optimize the design, testing, and validation of hardware systems. We employ Hardcaml, an OCaml library that allows for concise RTL hardware descriptions. You will gain significant exposure to the essential libraries and tools integrated into our development environment. No prior knowledge of Hardcaml is required.
In this role, you will be integral to the design and implementation of new FPGA applications from the ground up, as well as refining our internal high-level design and testing tools. Your daily responsibilities will involve extensive use of OCaml and Hardcaml for RTL design and testing/integration, along with some exposure to Verilog and C. While experience with OCaml is not mandatory, a solid background in typed programming languages is advantageous.
If you wish to explore more about our culture and processes, feel free to check out our interview process, meet some of our newest hires, or watch our OCaml All The Way Down talk and listen to the Programmable Hardware podcast episode.
