About the job
The DataPUPS Early ID Summit is a one-day, in-person event hosted at Datadog’s New York City headquarters. This program is designed for rising sophomores (Class of 2029) who want to explore technology careers early in their college journey. Attendees will collaborate with engineers, develop technical skills, and observe how large-scale systems are built and maintained at Datadog.
Participants will experience Datadog’s engineering culture firsthand. Those selected may also be considered for early access to future internships and ongoing engagement with the Early Talent team.
What happens at the Summit
- Join hands-on technical workshops led by Datadog engineers.
- Attend talks and product sessions focused on real engineering challenges in production environments.
- Hear stories and advice from both early-career and senior employees about career growth and team selection.
- Learn about the internship recruiting process, including timelines, interview preparation, and what makes candidates stand out.
- Connect with engineers, product leaders, and peers in small group discussions.
Who should apply
- Students who enjoy building projects outside of class.
- Participants in hackathons, coding competitions, or technical research.
- People who like to take systems apart to understand how they work.
- Curious thinkers who often ask “why?” and consider scaling challenges.
- Anyone interested in how AI and modern tools are shaping engineering today.
Preferred qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or a related technical field, graduating in 2029.
- Strong interest in technical problem-solving.
- Open to exploring future opportunities in New York City or Boston.
- Available to attend the summit in person in NYC on June 22–23, 2026.
- Comfortable programming in at least one language (such as Python, Java, Go, C/C++, JavaScript, or similar).
