Business Analyst – Job Description
Position Overview
The Business Analyst (BA) plays a pivotal role in understanding business needs and identifying opportunities for process enhancements. This individual will translate those requirements into precise functional specifications. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, technology, operations, and key stakeholders, the BA will ensure that solutions strategically align with overarching business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Engage with stakeholders to deeply understand business goals and challenges.
- Conduct comprehensive requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, interviews, and surveys.
- Document intricate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Create user stories, use cases, process flows, and requirement traceability matrices.
2. Process & Data Analysis
- Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and gaps.
- Perform root-cause analysis and propose actionable process improvements.
- Collaborate with data teams to interpret trends and derive performance insights.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks as required.
3. Solution Design & Documentation
- Work alongside product and technical teams to design optimal solutions.
- Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and workflow diagrams.
- Validate solutions through structured user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and execution.
- Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementation.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
- Clearly communicate requirements, project updates, and status consistently.
- Prioritize requirements based on their business value and feasibility.
5. Project Support
- Assist in project planning, scope definition, and estimation of timelines.
- Monitor deliverables to ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Provide post-implementation support, training, and documentation.
