About Sequence HoldingsAt Sequence Holdings, our mission is clear: to acquire, transform, and operate businesses that will shape the future of the American service economy. We understand that AI will revolutionize every sector, but its most profound influence will arise not merely from enhanced models but from fundamentally changing how businesses serve their customers. This means quicker decision-making, personalized services at scale, and improved outcomes for those who rely on these institutions daily. We view this as the defining opportunity of our generation.Traditional methods fall short. SaaS companies often expect businesses to adapt to their offerings, and consultants typically provide a scoped engagement before leaving. Neither approach has the access, context, or motivation to truly understand how a business operates at its core. This level of insight requires ownership.Sequence Holdings was established to bridge that gap. As a permanent holding company, we provide a stable environment for exceptional businesses and the talented individuals who lead them. We take significant equity stakes, integrate our technology and engineering teams, and collaborate closely with management to enhance operations from within. We are not just a vendor or a temporary partner; we are committed owners.Having raised $75 million—with our seed round led by Conviction and 8VC and our Series A led by Lux Capital alongside Definition Capital and Chris Re (Factory)—we are well-positioned for growth.About the RoleIn this role, you will identify, assess, and finalize acquisitions for Sequence Holdings while also contributing to the development of these businesses post-acquisition. This is not a conventional investment position; as a permanent holding company, you will be involved in every deal for the long term. There is no exit strategy or portfolio rotation—your judgment and decisions will have lasting impacts. You will oversee the entire investment lifecycle: sourcing unique opportunities, cultivating relationships with founders and owners, underwriting businesses, leading due diligence, and guiding transactions to completion. Your responsibilities extend beyond signing; you will remain actively engaged with the businesses post-acquisition, refining operational models, collaborating with management, and leveraging Sequence’s technology platform to drive transformation from within. We are redefining the M&A process. You will have direct access to your work, with no unnecessary layers. There will be no VP reviewing your models before they reach the partner, and no analysts drafting your memos. You will manage your processes, forge your relationships, and make recommendations directly to decision-makers. Our flat organizational structure reflects the demands of the work.As Sequence expands, this role will evolve alongside it. You will gain in-depth knowledge in our targeted sectors, cultivate a network of owners, bankers, and operators, and help shape the M&A strategy that will determine Sequence's trajectory.
