This provisional appointment requires candidates to take and pass the Supervisor II (Social Work) exam when available to maintain their position.DVS is committed to providing a comprehensive array of immediate and long-term support for survivors of domestic violence and their families. As the overseer of the largest domestic shelter system in the country, DVS ensures safety and services for this vulnerable population. Our network includes over 55 emergency domestic violence shelters that offer temporary housing and supportive services to more than 17,500 victims and their children annually. DVS also funds the 24-hour domestic violence hotline.In addition to managing the No Violence Again (NOVA) program at the DHS intake center, DVS operates the Domestic Violence Liaison Unit, providing counseling and intervention services at Job Centers. We collaborate with community-based organizations to deliver counseling, legal services, financial development, and job readiness programs for survivors. DVS also leads the Teen Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP), a nationally recognized primary prevention effort.As a Field Supervisor, you will work under the guidance of the Special Services Director, exercising significant independent judgment and decision-making.
