This position will entail serving as a key advisor on all matters related to public safety.Key Responsibilities:- Manage and support medium- to long-term projects to ensure the public safety agenda is on target.- Collaborate closely with the NYPD, Department of Correction, Department of Probation, the Civilian Complaint Review Board, among others.- Evaluate nationwide initiatives to pinpoint best practices and potential public safety models.- Prepare comprehensive briefings for stakeholders, ensuring sensitive information is communicated appropriately.- Track project documentation, including schedules, plans, presentations, meeting agendas, minutes, and status reports relevant to public safety initiatives.- Represent the First Deputy Mayor’s Office in meetings with stakeholders, advocates, agency leaders, and committees to foster positive relationships and gather insights, opinions, and needs to support public safety policies.- Report directly to the Senior Advisor for Public Safety.- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.About You:- You excel at working independently and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.- You possess strong organizational skills and can manage multiple workstreams, timelines, and deliverables effectively.- You are a proactive self-starter who positively contributes to a learning culture and team-oriented environment.
