About the job
About Amigo
At Amigo, we collaborate with healthcare organizations to establish a powerful AI infrastructure that enhances the experience of both patients and providers. Our innovative solutions streamline clinical workflows and enhance patient engagement throughout their journey—covering everything from pre-visit intake to care navigation, post-visit care plans, and ongoing patient monitoring.
Recently, we secured funding through our Series A round, with support from esteemed investors such as Madrona, General Catalyst, and Optum Ventures. Our work is validated by partnerships with leading academic medical institutions, and we have successfully facilitated over 3 million patient interactions, with plans to increase this number significantly in the coming year.
About the Role
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Amigo, you will be instrumental in developing the core applications that drive our clinical operations. You will work on three key products: the Control Center, which provides real-time monitoring of agent conversations; the Research Platform, enabling natural language queries over healthcare data; and Agent Forge, a no-code tool for designing agent behaviors.
Your responsibilities will span the full development lifecycle—from designing database schemas and APIs to crafting user interfaces—while handling sensitive patient data at scale. These applications are vital for clinical teams, researchers, and clients who interact with our platform on a daily basis. We maintain high standards for accuracy and reliability in all our outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy features across Control Center, Research Platform, and Agent Forge.
- Design and implement real-time interfaces for clinical oversight, including streaming conversations, escalation workflows, and audit trails.
- Create natural language query interfaces for healthcare data, ensuring clarity and feasibility indicators.
- Build no-code solutions enabling non-engineers to configure agent behaviors.
- Develop responsive, accessible UIs compatible with both desktop and mobile platforms for clinical users.
- Design APIs and data models that support real-time streaming, voice, and multi-channel communication.
- Establish authentication, authorization, and audit logging mechanisms to ensure healthcare compliance.
- Optimize application performance for high-volume clinical data handling.
- Collaborate with agent engineers, clinicians, and customers to gather and understand workflow requirements.
- Contribute to shared component libraries and the design system.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in full-stack development with a strong emphasis on building scalable applications.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, databases).
- Experience with real-time data processing and API design.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and commitment to creating accessible applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
