The Data Scientist will collaborate closely with the Office’s Investigation and Litigation teams to formulate and execute strategies for discovering, collecting, and analyzing employer data related to compliance with city workplace laws. Responsibilities will include utilizing this data to uncover violations of NYC workplace laws, verifying claims from both employers and workers, calculating employee relief and civil penalties, and guiding investigators in gathering testimonial evidence and other documentation. The Data Scientist will also contribute to the development of systems aimed at automating and standardizing data collection and analysis, playing an essential role in ensuring that working New Yorkers can access their legal protections.
