POSITION OVERVIEWThe Events Manager is instrumental in propelling the mission of the Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) by spearheading the planning, coordination, and execution of the organization’s events and gatherings. This role guarantees that all events, including pivotal occasions such as the Leaders Assembly and various professional convenings, exemplify FJC’s commitment to excellence, creativity, and hospitality. The Events Manager directly manages a diverse array of significant FJC events while also providing support to teams throughout the organization in planning and executing additional programs and gatherings. By fostering robust systems, tools, and training, the Events Manager ensures that each FJC event, whether centrally coordinated or department-led, meets high standards for quality, warmth, and inclusivity, creating impactful experiences that capture the essence of Jewish camp. Collaborating closely with teams across the organization, as well as FJC’s development and operations teams, the Events Manager oversees logistics, contracts, vendor relationships, and budgets, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with organizational objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEvent Planning & Management• Utilize a deep understanding of FJC’s organizational priorities and departmental needs to identify which events will be directly managed by the Events Manager and which will receive staff guidance and oversight. Establish clear parameters for event ownership, coordination, and support to maintain consistency and efficiency throughout the organization.• Direct the planning and execution of FJC’s flagship events, including the biennial Leaders Assembly, ensuring all components, such as content, logistics, and participant experience, are coordinated with utmost excellence.• Manage event timelines, oversee vendor relationships, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure deadlines and objectives are met efficiently.• Oversee event budgets, encompassing revenue and expenses, ensuring fiscal accuracy and accountability.• Create and maintain FJC’s comprehensive calendar of events, programs, and activities, while monitoring partner organization calendars to prevent scheduling conflicts.• Act as the primary staff member for designated events, managing all logistical elements, including transportation, venue selection, hotel accommodations, catering, audio/visual needs, and speaker coordination.• Assist staff in executing events where this role is not the lead, providing consultation, resources, and oversight based on logistics and event management best practices.Systems & Process Development• Establish and enhance event planning processes and operational protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency across FJC events.• Develop budgetary guidelines and standard operating procedures for event planning, vendor management, and contract negotiations to streamline operations.
