Role overview
The Mid-Level Functional Modeling Engineer collaborates with both hardware and software teams to integrate and validate complex systems. This work includes tasks in HiL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), MiL (Model-in-the-Loop), and SiL (Software-in-the-Loop) environments. The position requires hands-on involvement from concept to validation, ensuring that systems meet performance and reliability standards.
What you will do
- Design and develop electronic circuits and systems, working with analog and digital components, microcontrollers, and sensor/actuator interfaces.
- Select and evaluate electronic components to improve performance and reliability.
- Build prototypes, conduct tests, and refine designs to achieve functional requirements.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate hardware and software.
- Design and implement mechatronic systems that combine mechanical, electrical, and software elements.
- Develop control algorithms for motion and feedback control in mechatronic applications.
- Analyze sensor and actuator data to enhance system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in mechatronic systems.
- Create embedded software applications using Python and C++.
- Use Python for rapid prototyping, automation, and data analysis; apply C++ for performance-critical and low-level hardware programming.
- Write efficient, resource-conscious code for real-time applications.
- Develop and execute test plans for circuits, mechatronic systems, and embedded software.
- Perform thorough testing and validation to ensure quality, reliability, and safety.
- Produce technical documentation for electronic, mechatronic, and software systems.
- Communicate technical information clearly to colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
