Key Responsibilities Oversee security architecture for cloud environments, Kubernetes, internal services, and research infrastructure Develop and manage identity and access systems for both people and workloads, including SSO, MFA, RBAC, SCIM lifecycle automation, workload identity, and least-privilege access Improve secrets management using KMS, GitHub and CI credentials, 1Password or similar tools, and secure service-to-service authentication Strengthen software delivery and developer workflows, focusing on CI/CD, dependency security, build provenance, artifact integrity, and secure GitHub administration Conduct threat modeling, secure design reviews, and risk assessments for internal platforms, lab systems, and any externally exposed products Build detection and response capabilities across cloud, identity, network, and endpoint telemetry; manage incidents through containment, root cause analysis, and remediation Lead vulnerability management and remediation automation for hosts, containers, dependencies, SaaS, and infrastructure-as-code Work with infrastructure and lab engineering teams on segmentation, remote access, firewall policy, certificates, DNS, and secure device-to-cloud patterns Set practical security standards, run tabletop exercises, and help the company make informed security decisions without unnecessary overhead Location This role is based in Menlo Park.
