samy1 is hiring a Director of Finance Operations based in Madrid. This senior leader will guide and improve global Finance Operations, with a focus on Order-to-Cash (OTC) and Order-to-Pay (OTP) processes.
Role overview
This position holds full responsibility for the operational finance cycle. The Director will drive consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all regions, while building strong relationships with regional Finance teams and senior leadership.
Main responsibilities
Finance Operations Leadership (OTC & OTP)
- Oversee OTC and OTP activities globally.
- Lead and develop the Finance Operations team, including OTC and OTP managers.
- Define and roll out the operating model, roles, and responsibilities for the division.
End-to-end process management
- Ensure effective execution of key processes:
- Invoicing and revenue recognition
- Collections and accounts receivable
- Payments and accounts payable oversight
- Work in progress (WIP) and revenue recognition support
- Standardize processes across countries and business units.
Business partnering and stakeholder management
- Serve as the main contact for Country Finance Managers and business stakeholders.
- Support complex operational matters, including:
- Client onboarding and implementations
- Large account rollouts
- M&A integration
Process improvement and automation
- Identify and deliver efficiency improvements in OTC and OTP.
- Reduce manual work and operational obstacles.
- Promote automation using ERP systems, TMS, and reporting tools.
- Encourage adoption of AI tools to improve productivity, data handling, and decision-making.
- Establish scalable, standardized processes throughout the organization.
Governance and control
- Maintain strong internal controls within OTC and OTP.
- Improve data reliability for reporting and decisions.
- Support audit activities and ensure compliance.
Collaboration with Treasury
- Provide accurate forecasts for collections and payments to Treasury.
- Work closely with Treasury to enhance cash management and planning.
