We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Architect with a robust background in COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2 technologies. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in modernizing legacy mainframe systems through SOA, web services, and MQ. You will collaborate with Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Data Architects, and Solution Architects to develop a comprehensive modernization roadmap for our mainframe systems.Duties & Responsibilities:Evaluate the current state of legacy systems and pinpoint areas for modernization.Analyze the existing VSAM structure and collaborate with Data Architects to establish an equivalent RDBMS structure for DB2.Design the future state architecture for legacy systems.Develop a detailed roadmap for legacy modernization, outlining priorities and dependencies.Analyze requirements and identify CICS transactions suitable for web services.Create necessary design documentation for CICS services, including Service Design Documents and defining service SLAs in non-functional requirements.Understand requirements thoroughly and provide estimates for design and development of required functionalities.Have a solid grasp of the system development life cycle.Work effectively with multicultural, distributed offshore and onshore development teams in a dynamic, complex environment.Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.Take a principal technical role in demonstrations, providing technical expertise and addressing client inquiries regarding hardware and software.Conduct brief pilots and proofs of concept.Review code and designs from team members, providing constructive feedback.Coordinate with delivery partners to ensure a cohesive solution.Collaborate with the client’s infrastructure team to assess hardware and software requirements for ESB as needed for the project.Participate in all governance reviews.Mentor and train project team members, assisting in resource management and the recruitment of new team members.
