About the team:
The Fleet Operations Team is committed to maximizing uptime and performance across Formic’s expanding fleet of deployed robotic systems. Operating within active manufacturing environments, our team is responsible for diagnosing issues, restoring production, and continuously enhancing system reliability at scale. Fleet Operations functions at the intersection of robotics, controls, and real-world factory execution, ensuring that Formic’s automation solutions deliver consistent, measurable performance across a variety of industrial applications.
About the role:
As a Robotics Field Service Engineer, you will be at the forefront of technical ownership for Formic’s deployed robotic cells. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing failures, restoring systems to operational status, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and representing Formic directly on-site at customer facilities.
This role demands a hands-on approach and high accountability in uptime-sensitive environments. Success in this position requires strong troubleshooting skills, calmness during production disruptions, and meticulous documentation practices. Your contributions will significantly influence fleet performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term system reliability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells.
- Responding to remote and on-site escalations, identifying root causes, and swiftly restoring systems.
- Providing hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
- Documenting service activities, updating asset records, and ensuring thorough reporting.
