Join GrayMatter Robotics as a Robotics Engineer specializing in Government Projects, where you will play a vital role in driving customer success by spearheading the implementation, deployment, and ongoing support of intelligent robotic assistants tailored for surface treatment applications.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with customers to analyze their manufacturing processes, requirements, and constraints, ensuring the collection of essential data such as measurements, CAD files, and documentation.
Lead proof of concept initiatives that showcase the innovative capabilities of GrayMatter technologies.
Take ownership of robotic cell design from conception to execution, partnering with design and mechatronics teams to enhance reachability, cycle time, and operational efficiency.
Design and manage the fabrication of custom end-of-arm tooling and fixtures, overseeing the process from initial concept through rigorous testing.
Configure GMR-AI to create optimized tool paths and trajectories for new robotic applications.
Rapidly prototype new inspection sensors, tools, and processes, collaborating with sensor vendors to assess emerging technologies.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain control components, including sensors, relays, and vacuum ejectors.
Assist in developing new process recipes to accommodate a variety of materials and geometries.
Work closely with software engineers to prototype innovative ideas, processes, and methodologies.
Collaborate with product and AI teams to continuously enhance the customer experience.
Generate comprehensive documentation, manuals, and educational content.
Export Control Requirements
To comply with U. S. Government export regulations, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (i) U. S. citizen or national, (ii) U. S. lawful permanent resident (current green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U. S. C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U. S. C. § 1158.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proficient in programming 6DOF robots for diverse surface finishing applications.
Familiarity with motion control systems and robotics programming languages such as Robot Operating System (ROS) or similar frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex ideas clearly.
