About the job
At Relativity Space, we are revolutionizing the aerospace industry by constructing rockets that cater to both current requirements and future innovations. Our flagship Terran R vehicle is poised to transport customer payloads into orbit, addressing the increasing demand for launch capacity. This is just the beginning; achieving commercial success with Terran R will pave the way for new avenues in scientific research, exploration, and technological advancement, driving progress beyond the familiar.
Becoming a part of Relativity means embracing an environment where autonomy, ownership, and the potential for impact are integral to every role. Here, you are not merely executing tasks; you are tackling unprecedented challenges, contributing to the development of a rocket, a manufacturing facility, and a business from the ground up. Regardless of your area of expertise—be it propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or corporate functions—you will collaborate across teams, influence critical decisions, and witness your contributions come to fruition at an unprecedented pace. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical precision converge, and your input will help shape the narrative of our collective journey. We are at a pivotal juncture where it is still early enough for you to leave a significant imprint on our product, processes, and culture, while also being far enough along that the Terran R is a tangible reality gaining momentum. The most impactful work of your career awaits. Join us.
About the Team:
The Structures and Mechanisms team oversees the complete design, build, and testing lifecycle of the integrated structures and flight mechanisms of Terran R. Whether you are engaged in developing intricate mechanisms that require precision or creating robust structures designed to withstand tight tolerances, you will have hands-on ownership of hardware and observe the rocket materializing on the factory floor. Our teams work collaboratively under a single department, adhering to shared design principles, tools, and a unified approach that provides a holistic perspective on Terran R. Team members have the opportunity to work on various components, rather than being confined to a single subsystem, and are empowered to make decisions that directly influence the flight hardware. Beyond the inaugural flight, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing manufacturability and operational efficiency.
