We are collaborating with a prestigious global banking institution to recruit a skilled Support Engineer. This position is part of the Desktop Support team, dedicated to offering exceptional IT assistance to employees of a financial services firm located in London. The ideal candidate will exemplify professionalism, providing a well-organized, responsive, and customer-centric support service.
The role demands a proficient Desktop Support Engineer who champions the Trading Support function, possessing the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with business users across all levels, including senior executives and IT management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on desktop support to business users through phone, email, ticketing systems, and in-person, resolving issues within agreed SLAs while managing user expectations.
- Assist with new joiner onboarding and execute desk moves and equipment changes as necessary.
- Provide 1st to 3rd line support across hardware, software, and end-user applications.
- Support market data applications and services.
- Set up and maintain mobile devices.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Engage in out-of-hours support, including on-call rotations, desk moves, and ad-hoc testing.
- Exhibit flexibility to provide evening cover as needed (up to 10:30 PM).
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting a trading floor or front-office environment.
- Strong market data support experience (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
- Extensive knowledge of Windows 10 desktop support and Office 365.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and endpoint management tools (GPO, WMI, SCCM).
- Experience with virtual desktop environments (Citrix XenDesktop, VMware, Nutanix).
- Solid understanding of desktop and laptop hardware, including VDI setups.
- Experience with broker and trading applications (e.g., Brokertec, GFI, ICAP).
- Proficiency in mobile device support (iPhone, iPad).
- Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
- Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell preferred).
- Exchange administration knowledge is advantageous but not required.

Contract Details:
Duration: 3 Months rolling contract
Salary: up to £40,000
