Role Overview Digital Matte Painters at Framestore help build photorealistic environments, elements, and textures for film and TV. These assets may blend into live-action footage or serve as standalone DMP plates. Some projects involve mapping matte paintings onto 3D objects, so flexibility with both 2D and 3D workflows is important. Strong understanding of real-world materials and lighting is essential. Collaboration with Modelling and Shading teams is frequent, so familiarity with their processes is helpful. Main Responsibilities Create photorealistic digital matte paintings for a variety of shots and sequences. Work with supervisors to develop the visual style for assigned shots. Coordinate with production to clarify timelines and technical needs. Collaborate with Shader Developers, Lighting TDs, and Compositors to deliver high-quality work.
