Position Overview
The Analyst role at StepStone in London is pivotal in assisting the Private Equity team with investment activities, engaging across two key investment categories: primaries and co-investments within buyouts, venture capital, or growth equity contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire a foundational knowledge of the private equity landscape and emerging industry trends.
- Conduct financial analysis, prepare valuation reports, and leverage available data to identify, assess, and interpret trends across various sectors.
- Develop independent assessments of investment opportunities and articulate these findings effectively in both verbal and written communications; defend positions in team settings, including Investment Committee meetings.
- Assist senior team members in sourcing and managing the investment processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- Proven academic and professional accomplishments.
- 1-3 years of experience in Investment Banking or Consulting.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills to represent the firm professionally in both written and verbal formats.
- Advanced analytical skills, including robust quantitative and modeling capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership potential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Adaptability to a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment, with an expectation to perform various roles as the firm evolves.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team-oriented atmosphere.
- Proficiency in European languages is a plus.
