Qualifications
Key ResponsibilitiesDrive the preparation of meticulous cost estimates for new construction, remodels, and site works. Conduct and oversee detailed material and quantity take-offs, including lumber. Review and accurately interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and site conditions. Lead the solicitation, assessment, and alignment of subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring scope coherence and gap analysis. Propose strategic value engineering recommendations to enhance project budgets and execution. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and leadership to synchronize scope, schedule, and costs. Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Coordinators and the Material Purchasing Coordinator. Maintain and improve cost databases and historical pricing records. Prepare and present competitive and comprehensive proposals. Manage multiple estimates concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.5–10 years of estimating experience is required, particularly in QSR or retail construction. Demonstrated leadership experience in an estimating or preconstruction environment. Advanced skills in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints. Strong background in detailed take-offs, scope analysis, and subcontractor bid descoping. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, or similar). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis, modeling, and data management. Solid understanding of construction methods, codes, and industry best practices. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
