Lead Electrical Design Engineer - Substation Projects

Objective / PurposeAs a Design Engineer specializing in Primary Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in preparing, reviewing, and executing engineering activities for substation projects, guided by the Design Lead (Primary). Your expertise in layout engineering for substations will be essential as you collaborate with modellers to develop BIM 3D models. You will also be responsible for designing substation layouts and providing critical inputs to draftsmen for the creation of detailed drawings.Key Responsibilities:Conduct timely reviews of drawings produced by draftsmen.Engage with Site Execution and Cluster teams for design clarifications related to equipment.Coordinate with various inter-disciplinary teams, including Civil & Structural, MEP, and Instrumentation, to ensure alignment on design specifications.Ensure adherence to specification requirements.Review both 2D and 3D drawings and documentation in line with quality systems.Evaluate vendor offers and corresponding documentation.Participate in pre-tender engineering tasks, including BOM (Bill of Materials) estimation and offer reviews.Prepare design calculations for all substation equipment, including sizing calculations for Busbars, UPS, DG, LT Transformers, and Earthing Conductors, along with other relevant calculations (e.g., short circuit force, sag tension).Review the Bill of Materials and compare it against tender quantities.
