Quality Manager

C&K Meats is thrilled to invite applications for the position of Quality Manager to become an integral part of our dynamic technical team located in Eye, Suffolk.
In this pivotal role as our Quality Manager, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of approximately four colleagues, championing a culture of excellence in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and audit compliance.
You will collaborate closely with operational teams, addressing challenges and driving solutions together to enhance product quality and safety.
Reporting directly to our Head of Technical, your responsibilities will encompass the daily oversight of the Quality department, ensuring that our site standards are upheld without compromise.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a champion for the Food Safety Culture Action Plan.
Uphold and enhance environmental hygiene standards on-site, serving as the primary liaison with the contract hygiene team and hygiene product suppliers.
Conduct internal audits in accordance with BRCGS and customer Codes of Practice, identifying and rectifying non-conformances.
Oversee scheduled GMP, Fabric & Glass, and Plastic audits.
Maintain and manage the non-conforming product log, ensuring timely corrective actions are documented and implemented in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Collaborate with production teams to prepare product launch documentation.
Assist in managing traceability and mass balance exercises and schedules.
Coordinate investigations of customer complaints, develop responses, and formulate corrective action plans.
Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, offering day-to-day support to our Quality Assurance team.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a quality role within food manufacturing, including team leadership.
HACCP Level 3 certification.
Internal Auditor Level 3 certification is preferred.
CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for Manufacturing certification.
Strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills.
Excellent communication skills.
