Qualifications
UAE National with a valid Family Book, required as part of our Emiratisation framework. Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, City & Regional Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geography, Public Policy, or a closely related field.3–5 years of experience in urban planning, community development, land use regulation, or related fields. Proficient understanding of zoning regulations, land development guidelines, and planning processes. Experience in reviewing development submissions such as plats, permits, site plans, variance applications, and rezoning requests. Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis, translating findings into clear planning recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through preparation and presentation of technical reports, working papers, and formal correspondence. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with community groups, government entities, and other stakeholders.

This role qualifies for full NAFIS eligibility, with AECOM managing all registrations and contributions to the GPSSA (General Pension and Social Security Authority).
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret and enforce relevant government codes, ordinances, and regulations.
• Initiate necessary actions to rectify deficiencies or violations of regulations.
• Assist in updating and maintaining comprehensive plans, transportation plans, and land development regulations.
• Serve as a liaison between community groups, governmental bodies, developers, and elected officials to develop neighborhood plans.
• Review various development applications including plats, permits, site plans, variance requests, and rezonings.
• Conduct extensive research in specific or general project areas.
• Write and present formal and technical reports, working papers, and correspondence.
• Identify community issues and opportunities in neighborhoods that can be improved through enhanced planning.
• Develop long-range plans for communities facing similar developmental challenges.
• Formulate strategies to promote economic and community development or efficient land use that aligns with community goals.
• Assess the adequacy of community facilities to meet current and projected needs.
• Recommend priorities, schedules, and funding sources to execute public improvement plans.
