About the Role
We invite skilled Transaction Monitoring Analysts to join a dynamic financial crime initiative for a prestigious financial institution in Dubai. This contract role focuses on addressing a significant backlog of transaction monitoring alerts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and local regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will possess practical experience in transaction monitoring, a robust understanding of AML typologies, and the ability to perform with precision and efficiency in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze extensive transaction monitoring alerts for potential suspicious activities.
- Recognize unusual patterns, behaviors, or red flags through established guidelines and AML typologies.
- Conduct preliminary investigations, document findings, and close false positives or escalate legitimate suspicious cases.
- Compose clear and concise alert narratives and summaries for escalations in accordance with policy.
- Operate within strict SLAs and productivity goals to facilitate backlog clearance objectives.
- Collaborate with team leads, quality assurance units, and compliance teams as necessary.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all completed tasks and ensure adherence to internal procedures and regulatory standards.
Key Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in AML transaction monitoring roles, ideally within a financial institution or consultancy.
- Proficient understanding of UAE regulatory requirements and international AML frameworks (e.g., FATF, Wolfsberg).
- Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems (e.g., Actimize, SAS AML, FICO, or similar platforms).
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail in detecting suspicious patterns or potential financial crimes.
- Demonstrated capability to manage high volumes of alerts and meet daily review targets.
- Excellent written communication skills, especially in drafting alert closures and escalation justifications.
- Self-driven and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, target-oriented project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
- AML certifications such as CAMS or similar.
