Senior Videographer & Editor
- Reports directly to the Head of Production.
- Collaborates closely with:
- Film Director / Head of Documentary Department
- Director of Photography (DOP)
- Editing and Production Teams
Role Overview
The Senior Videographer & Editor plays a pivotal role in creating compelling visual narratives. This hands-on position is dedicated to shooting and editing high-caliber video content for documentaries, high-production projects, and engaging social media formats. The ideal candidate must demonstrate agility in transitioning between filming and editing while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Working in a dynamic environment, you will contribute significantly to the delivery of high-quality visual content that aligns with Wasl Channel’s storytelling ethos.
Key Responsibilities
Videography & Shooting
- Capture video content for a variety of formats, including:
- Short documentaries
- Field reports
- Social media content
- High-production projects
- Execute filming in adherence to creative and technical guides.
- Maintain strong visual framing, composition, and consistency.
- Work efficiently on location to meet tight deadlines.
Editing & Post-Production
- Edit and assemble video content across multiple formats, including:
- Documentaries
- Long-form videos
- Short-form and social media pieces
- Build edits from raw footage or predefined structures.
- Ensure the pacing, flow, and narrative clarity are optimized.
- Prepare final outputs suitable for publication.
Storytelling Support
- Enhance storytelling through:
- Thoughtful scene selection
- Visual rhythm
- Logical sequencing
- Partner with directors and editors to elevate narrative quality.
Technical Execution
- Utilize professional editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro) with confidence.
- Perform basic color correction and audio enhancements as needed.
- Prepare content for various aspect ratios when necessary.
- Ensure technical quality aligns with Wasl’s standards.
Workflow & Collaboration
- Maintain close coordination with production and editorial teams.
- Independently manage assigned tasks.
- Handle feedback and revisions professionally.
- Engage in production or editorial meetings as required.
Standards & Expectations
- Uphold high standards of visual and editing quality.
- Quickly adapt to diverse content styles and formats.
- Balance efficiency and quality in a fast-paced environment.
- Respect cultural context and adhere to Arabic content standards.
Language & Content Scope
- All content must be in Arabic.
- Style varies based on the project (documentary, social, cinematic).
