JOB PURPOSE
This role is designed for a skilled manager to oversee delinquent and vulnerable accounts specifically in secured products. The primary objective is to drive team performance to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) while adhering to local regulations and the Code of Practice (CPR).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Oversee the team's portfolio, achieving financial targets related to collections, productivity, and call quality while minimizing valid complaints.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a dedicated team whose performance significantly influences the Bank’s profitability.
- Direct the team to maximize recoveries and facilitate financial solutions that support and assist customers.
- Conduct debt counseling sessions and, when necessary, initiate legal discussions with affected customers.
- Implement the collection process in compliance with CPR regulations, ensuring the bank's reputation remains intact.
- Establish effective capacity planning to optimize staffing resources.
- Maintain a low audit risk rating for the unit.
- Negotiate settlements with customers, aiming for mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Support the development of a robust collections infrastructure for recovering delinquent accounts by recruiting motivated staff and providing training and resources.
- Coordinate with various internal departments (Credit, CAD, Paralegal) to finalize processes related to restructures, settlements, and legal matters.
- Engage with external entities and property management firms to gather lease information for mortgaged properties.
- Oversee the front-end collections team, monitoring performance metrics and call volumes.
- Execute dialer campaigns (both predictive and preview) and manage voice and SMS outreach to delinquent mortgage customers.
- Effectively reduce delinquency rates by managing front-end collection efforts.
- Address escalated complaints and customer inquiries, enhancing resolution processes and reducing complaint rates.
Legal, Regulatory and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to local legal and regulatory standards, reporting any developments that may impact collection activities or legal actions.
- Oversee Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.
